Trippier delighted with free-kick goal
Wing-back weighs in on the scoresheet

KIERAN Trippier has revealed how he proved his team-mates wrong on Saturday by scoring a stunning goal in Tottenham’s 3-1 victory over Fulham.
The wing-back, who was arguably England’s player of the tournament at the World Cup this summer, curled home a free-kick from distance at Wembley to restore Spurs’ lead after Aleksandar Mitrović had cancelled out Lucas Moura’s opener.
“Some of the boys saw me shaping up to take it and said, ‘Is it not a bit too far out?’” explained Trippier after the game. “That made me question my decision. But the decision had already been made and I tried to block the keeper’s view as much as possible by telling some of the boys to get in the wall. I am happy it went in. I think it was a crucial time to get a goal, no matter who scored it, because they were getting on top of the game.
” Harry Kane also found the back of the net, finally scoring a Premier League goal in August as Spurs maintained their 100 per cent start to the new season.
