TWO men have been jailed for more than 15 years after raping a 16-year-old girl.
Abdi Ahmed, 32, and Ahmed Mohamed, 41, were sentenced at Wood Green Crown Court yesterday (Wednesday) after pleading guilty to rape.
Ahmed befriended the teenager outside Camden Town underground station in the early hours of May 5 last year.
She had been using one of the station’s mobile phone charging ports when Ahmed asked if she could call a cab for him.
He then persuaded the victim to go with him, telling her he had killed people in the past making her fearful of him.
He took her to his nearby hostel in Kentish Town where staff told him guests were not allowed.
He then took her to his co-defendant’s flat in Raglan Street, where they both raped her.
The young victim managed to lock herself in the bathroom and call the police who managed to track her phone to find her location and officers arrived at the address shortly after.
Tanyia Dogra, from the Crown Prosecution Service, praised the victim for her “brave testimony”.
“With the overwhelming prosecution evidence against them, these rapists changed their pleas,” said Ms Dogra.
“I hope this prosecution plays some part in helping the victim to move forward.”
