TWO teenagers arrested after a police chase through the streets of West Hampstead are being questioned by murder detectives tonight after a man was stabbed to death outside his home in Westminster by a suspect on a moped.

The two young men, aged 18 and 17, were arrested by police in Broomsleigh Street near to Beckford Primary School at around 2:30am this morning on suspicion of murder.

A 28-year-old man was stabbed in St Mary’s Terrace, Little Venice, shortly before midnight last night. He died in hospital just over an hour later.

A neighbour in Broomsleigh Street said: “The first thing I heard was a helicopter that was following the chase, but then I heard the police trying to arrest the first guy.

“I could just see his head and they kept him on the floor for a long time. There was still a lot of commotion. The police were shouting at him.

“The police were looking everywhere for something and shining torches under cars. At some point another policeman brought the other guy. He was on his knees in the gutter for ages and the other guy was lying on his belly for ages.”
