IT was a late night for primary school pupils, who were allowed to stay up right to the end of England’s World Cup victory over the Colombia.
Year six children from Fitzjohn’s Primary School, in Hampstead, who are in the Isle of Wight this week learning about dinosaurs, exploded into wild celebrations as Eric Dier scored with the decisive penalty.
Caught on camera by a teacher, the video was captioned by the school: “The joy.”
Headteacher Robert Earrey said: “Seven of the children decided to stay to watch all of the match while the rest came with us down to the beach to play a game of our own. We played fairer than the professionals.”
He added: “We came back just before the end of the 90 minutes, which meant we saw the dramatic finale.
