A spiritually-awakened theatre director is holding a workshop aimed at “healing” Brexiteers and Remainers.
Valerie Kattenfeld hopes The Healing Encounter in Camden Town later this month will help people “overcome the hate- infiltrated polarisation in society” with a playful mixture of dancing, eye contact and creativity.
She said: “I think it [Brexit] is a very hard political topic and politics in general is something we are very divided about. This fighting makes us heavy and sad and sometimes it destroys friendships.”
Ms Kattenfeld, from Austria, worked as a theatre director, performer and dancer for a decade before going to India where she discovered how to be “non- judgmental”.
The workshop will run over two evenings, with the first creating connections and, on the second day, participants asking questions about each another.
People from both sides of Brexit debate are invited as long as they are prepared to leave their judgments at the door.
She said: “We will dance together and make eye contact, ask questions… It’s about bonding and connecting people. We are just more than single aspects in the community.
“I want them to walk away in the knowledge that their truth is not necessarily the only truth and each person can be seen and heard.”
The workshop takes place on August 30 and 31 at 8 Greenland Place.
